Surviving the first week

So much has changed since the first few days home with Seth. We have settled into a little routine that involves a lot of eating, sleeping and changing diapers. He has turned into the best little sleeper Justin and I could ask for. He eats at ten then wakes up at 2 to eat and then again at 6. We usually go back to sleep until nine at this point and then start the day with the routine of feeding, diapering and hopefully mom getting a shower in. He has the best little temperament. He only cries if he needs to be changed or is hungry. Otherwise if he is awake he simply stares at all the things around him. I know their eyes are not very focused yet but it sure seems like he is looking at something. His dad calls him his little buddy and wants to be holding him unless I am feeding him. Justin gets jealous because after he eats and while I burp him Seth likes to curl up on my chest and usually falls asleep. Life has changed so much before you lived for yourselves and what you were could do varied by the minute. Now Seth is in charge and we wouldn't have it any other way. It is amazing how you can love something so much in just a short amount of time and be completely fine with changing your life for that person. Some of our favorite things about Seth are:
1. He will hold your finger really tight.
2. The smiles he gives right before he passes gas or while he is sleeping.
3. His tiny ears
4. Before he starts crying he usually whines like a little puppy.
5. He likes to take naps with mom and dad.

Little Seth

We decided on a name as we were leaving the hospital and they told us we need to fill out the birth certificate and SS card paper work. Justin Seth Bridge, called Seth. He is starting to eat well, after a couple of scary and tiring days, and he seems to be confused as to when he should be sleeping. He thinks its fun to stay up all night and sleep during the day. He passed his second biliruben test so the lucky little guy gets to go a few more weeks with no blood drawn.

Happy New Year

This Christmas break went by so fast for Justin and I. We spent most of the first week trying to do the shopping we had put off and the second week working on minor improvements on the house. The joys of being a homeowner. We did not spend one minute preparing for our upcoming arrival so as of this moment I have a basinet that is ready for a sleeping child but that is about it. The crib is not set up, I do not have the dresser or most of the immediate essentials that a baby needs like diapers, wipes, clothes and a car seat. For those of you that know me I know, what happened to super organized me, trust me I wish I knew. Lets hope the baby stays put for the next 16 days and I can try to get some of this accomplished. As for the New Year I came back to work on Monday and Justin starts school again on Wednesday. He is going to have a crazy semester with credit hours but if everything goes well should graduate this spring. Yea!!!! Below are some pics of our Christmas and New Year breaks.
